Mamelodi Sundowns and PUMA Unveiled 'Art of Play' Kits for 2025/26 Season

Mamelodi Sundowns, in partnership with global sports company PUMATeam·PUMA, officially unveiled their new Home and Away kits for the 2025/26 season on July 24, 2025. The collection, dubbed "The Art of Play," was designed to reflect the club's unique blend of strategy, precision, and artistry on the football pitch.

The Away kit, a prominent feature of the new collection, showcased a crisp white shirt paired with white pants and blue socks. This contrasted with the traditional yellow shirt, blue shorts, and white socks of the Home kit. A unifying design element across both kits was an "eye-catching Art of Play graphic" strategically placed on the side panels of the shirts and shorts, symbolizing the intricate patterns of play that define the Sundowns' style.

Brett Bellinger, PUMATeam·PUMA SA Marketing Director, highlighted that the new kit celebrated the club's distinctive playing philosophy, a style that has consistently delivered significant accolades, including eight consecutive Premier Soccer League (PSL) titles and a CAF Champions League star. Tiyani Mabunda, a Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson, further elaborated on the design's resonance with the team's "shoe-shine-and-piano" identity, a term synonymous with patient build-up play, elegance, and flair.

From a technical standpoint, the authentic player shirts were engineered with PUMATeam·PUMA's advanced ULTRAWEAVE fabric, designed to minimize weight and friction, providing an athletic fit optimized for elite performance. Replica shirts, catering to the broader fan base, were produced using recycled polyester, aligning with contemporary sustainability efforts. Both the Home and Away shirts became available for purchase on August 7, 2025, with the authentic player's shirt priced at R2299, and replica versions for men, women, and children at R1299 and R1199 respectively.

The unveiling of these kits preceded a highly successful 2025/26 season for Mamelodi Sundowns. The club concluded the Premier Soccer League season in second place, accumulating 68 points from 30 games, with 20 wins, 8 draws, and only 2 losses. They scored 57 goals and conceded 21, achieving a goal difference of 36, finishing just one point behind league winners Orlando PiratesTeam·Orlando Pirates.

On the continental stage, the 2025/26 season marked a historic achievement as Mamelodi Sundowns secured their second TotalEnergies CAF Champions League title. They triumphed over AS FARTeam·AS FAR of Morocco with a 2-1 aggregate victory in the final, following a dominant 7-1 aggregate win against Remo Stars in the qualification rounds and a strong group stage performance. This continental success has earned them berths in the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2026 against USM Alger, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2026, and the prestigious FIFA Club World CupCompetition·FIFA Club World Cup 2029, building on their debut and first-ever win in the FIFA Club World CupCompetition·FIFA Club World Cup 2025 against Ulsan HD.
