Launched in partnership with PumaTeam·Puma on July 22, 2026, the new strip pays homage to the club's storied past, reimagining the iconic design that graced the cover of the inaugural edition of Kick Off magazine in February 1994.

The 2026/27 home kit maintains Mamelodi Sundowns' traditional vibrant yellow as its primary colour, accented by bright red PumaTeam·Puma logos. A distinctive thin green stripe encircles both the white collar and sleeve cuffs, adding a touch of classic elegance. Subtle, debossed vertical stripes are integrated into the fabric, providing a modern texture to the retro-inspired aesthetic. The most notable addition is the updated club crest, which now proudly displays two stars, symbolizing their distinctive "shoeshine and piano" style of play that culminated in their latest continental success. The kit became officially available for purchase on July 31, 2026.

This historic unveiling follows a highly successful 2025/26 season for Mamelodi Sundowns, highlighted by their victory in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. They secured the coveted title by defeating Moroccan side AS FARTeam·AS FAR with a 2-1 aggregate score, drawing the second leg 1-1 in Rabat after a crucial 1-0 home victory in the first leg.
