Despite a challenging start under the new regulations, Vowles maintains that substantial internal progress is being made, even if it is not yet fully reflected in the race results.

The GroveVenue·Grove-based outfit currently occupies ninth place in the Constructors' Championship with 11 points. The team, featuring a strong driver pairing of Carlos SainzPlayer·Carlos Sainz and Alex AlbonPlayer·Alex Albon, has not secured any points since the Grand Prix of MonacoCompetition·Grand Prix of Monaco, highlighting a period of struggle on the track.

The FW48 chassis has been hampered by persistent issues, including balance problems and excess weight. These challenges are a direct consequence of production delays that forced WilliamsTeam·Williams to miss the crucial shakedown in BarcelonaVenue·Barcelona at the end of January, impacting their early season preparations.

Speaking on social media, James VowlesCoach·James Vowles acknowledged the visible performance deficit but commended the extensive work being undertaken behind the scenes at the factory.

While WilliamsTeam·Williams introduced upgrades for the Grand Prix of MiamiCompetition·Grand Prix of Miami, the team has continued to contend at the rear of the grid. The recent Grand Prix of HungaryCompetition·Grand Prix of Hungary saw both WilliamsTeam·Williams cars eliminated in the first part of qualifying, ultimately finishing in 17th and 18th positions.
