Ogier and Ingrassia, who had maintained a commanding lead since Friday morning, were navigating a challenging section of the stage when their Toyota GR Yaris Rally1Team·Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 veered off the road. Traveling at approximately 130-140 km/h, the car made heavy impact with trees, rolling multiple times before coming to a halt. The severity of the crash prompted immediate action, with the stage being red-flagged and subsequently cancelled for the remaining competitors.

Julien IngrassiaPlayer·Julien Ingrassia recounted the immediate aftermath of the incident to L'Equipe, detailing the critical moments following the impact. He described exiting the vehicle and initially signaling that no urgent assistance was required, only to witness Sébastien OgierPlayer·Sébastien Ogier lose consciousness shortly thereafter.

"I saw Seb get out, realised I wasn't injured, and followed the procedure,"— Julien Ingrassia.

Ingrassia continued, explaining the gravity of the situation as it unfolded. "I pressed the 'OK' button in the car, which signals that we don't need emergency assistance and allows the stage to continue. But as I did so, I saw Seb lie down on the grass and lose consciousness. From that moment, the incident took on a completely different dimension. I immediately activated the emergency signal and went to Seb. His eyes were no longer blinking – there was no sound, no picture. With the help of two or three spectators, we held his head still while I fanned him with my notes. It was a worrying moment."

He emphasized the importance of maintaining composure under pressure. "I had never encountered anything like it in my life, but I knew it was important to remain calm. After giving the signal, I called the team to give them a medical assessment of what I was seeing. I also switched off the car because there was a risk of it catching fire. Little by little, as people spoke to him, Seb came to. Then the rescue teams arrived."

Both Ogier and Ingrassia were transported to Tampere hospitalVenue·Tampere hospital for precautionary checks and remained overnight for observation.
